| Born in St. Andrews in 1976, Linda
Bloomfield now lives and works in the small village of Hightae
near Lockerbie, painting domestic animals, wildlife and birds
to commission, as well as the occasional landscape and historical
building.
Possessing a love of both art and animals from an early
age, her talent developed with no formal training. Her affection
for her subjects enables Linda to bring to life a truly
exquisite portrait, depicting the character, likeness, personality
and expression of each commission painted.
Linda's working career began with several years in administration.
However, her desire to travel prompted a 2 year experience
of a lifetime in Australia. Whilst travelling and still
painting as a hobby, she was asked by the owner of 'Zoom
Top' - a famous racing greyhound, to illustrate a book on
this dog. On returning, as well as travelling over 7000
miles, Linda completed over 16 individual commissions whilst
in Australia.
Since setting up in full time business in July 2001, Linda
has enjoyed 3 successful solo exhibitions, launched her
web site, has reproduced a collection of her paintings
into limited edition prints, continues to paint commissioned
portraits for individual customers and is currently looking
forward to an exhibition at the W.H. Patterson Gallery,
Albemarle Street, Mayfair, London beginning in November
this year.
